That Microwave Popcorn Might Be Killing You

Do you eat microwave popcorn? As it turns out, it might be killing you. In another bit of proof that our artificial foods aren’t exactly good for you, ScienceDaily released a study that artificial butter flavoring could lead to respiratory problems.
According to the study, the chemical diacetyl has been linked to obliterative bronchiolitis (OB) in humans, specifically ones working in the microwave popcorn packaging plants. The study used mice exposed to the level of diacetyl that humans would be exposed to working in the plants for three months, they developed lymphocytic bronchiolitis - a potential precursor of OB.
The National Toxicology Program plans on studying this and other chemicals to figure out safe exposure levels for humans. Safe exposure levels? Are you kidding me? In my opinion, anything that leads to respiratory problems such as these should be striken from foods immediately and not even considered for any product we injest. I guess that’s the FDA for you.
