Organic Farming In Europe

Organic farming in Europe, surface area by country

It’s definitely no secret that despite the global growth of American brands like McDonalds and Coca-Cola, Europeans place more value in the quality of their food than most of the American public. It should be no surprise then to see graphic representation of just how much of their farmland is dedicated to organic farming rather than ’standardized imported tomatoes and frozen chicken.’

The graphic above (click the image to see the full size graphic) shows the percentage of farmland that’s used for organic farming and the amount of farmland total for European countries. This graphic was created by Philippe Rekacewicz, Stephane Kluser, Matthias Beilstein, Ieva Rucevska, Cecile Marin, and Otto Simonett.
