One of the more interesting concepts in the Innovate or Die Contest is this entry for a human-electric hybrid. It’s not really a new shape or design entirely, but an interesting idea. The concept of using batteries on board regenerated by photovoltaic panels on the top and regenerative braking is cool for something like this, but the idea of the panels feeding back into the grid when it’s “parked” is great.Honestly, I don’t think this would totally catch on even in urban environments with it’s bulky shape and inconvenient size as a personal carrier (imagine trying to fit that into an apartment, besides, no one wants to leave their bikes outside), if this idea could be transformed into something cities could invest in, it might have some traction.
